DOCUMENTARY FILM " FOOD INC" BY ROBERT KENNER

Last night i watched documentary film" Food INC," by Robert Kenner  as a part of my English class. The documentary film describes the cruelties to animals, the employees and the  control the corporations hold. While the corporations are making huge profits their procedures of producing and the policies they have are unjust on every level. The corporations show no interest in accommodating  livestock with proper animal living condition. For them it is more important to produce tons of meat without providing the animals with acceptable raising and farming. In the film there is an alarming scene where animals are packed up tightly on top of each other. Before they are killed they have to suffer and live in unsanitary conditions.Similarly, the food eaten by the livestock greatly differs from natural food chain for animals such as grass. The corporations are feeding them with food loaded with chemically enhanced ingredient to make them fatter. In the film some of the animals are unable to stand up on their feet. If  compared with humans; a person to fat to walk is not normal or healthy. Why is it acceptable to eat the meat of such sick animal that is unable to walk?By feeding them the proper animal's food would make meat healthier, even if it means a smaller quantity production. The main reason for this issue is the production and sale of cheap food. But the food sold that today's population eats has a high price. The current generation is struggling with many diseases because of the cheap food. The number of individuals with obesity and diabetic diseases patients are greatly spread among the nation. This leads to spending more on health insurance, medication and doctor visits. Not to mention the personal suffering of those inflicted with the diseases. The corporations are not providing cheap foods, but instead they are filling their bank accounts. To buy those so called cheap products people are contributing to the corporations with wealth, and at the same time risk their health. The corporations create their profits  not just by neglecting animals but their employees as well. The labor force behind production is low wage individuals. They are working considerable physically challenging jobs, health hazardous without any benefits and in many cases without legal status.  The one without legal status are the most disadvantaged. For the companies they are force behind the production and a cheap expendable labor easily replaced. This is a shame.Another disappointing fact is the control of industry over independent farmers. The farmers invests large amounts of money, which unable them to break the contract. It is sad fact that they control everything. How can people hope for the improvement in the quality of food production if they have this much control already? The way the poisonous food system works now is not promising a healthy life for today's generation or the future one.The documentary film is a wake up call.Everyday people eat food without knowledge how it got to supermarkets or restaurants.Hopefully there will be a positive change to improve all those issue within factories and company policies in the near future.

New York

For many years i lived in New York city.New York is very unique  and interesting city with many things to do.New York City's five boroughs are home to some of the world's most recognizable, cherished landmarks and attractions. From Times Square and Central Park to the Empire State Building and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the island of Manhattan packs more legendary icons into one compact area than any other place on Earth—and that's to say nothing of the City's four other boroughs, each of which contains its own beautiful sites. Especially notable this season is the  a public parks in all boroughs.. With so much to see and do, NYC may seem a little overwhelming.I live now in Stamford now but every chance i have i always go and visit wonderful New York city.Stamford is not that far from New York city but i would command everyone to go and see this interesting places and you wouldn't regretted.

Kidney diseases

Many years i was working as a dialysis technician. For somebody  that don't know what is dialysis i will explain. My job description was to asses patient, hook up on dialysis ma shin and monitor patient through that process.I always felt sorry for the people that have kidney problem.Kidneys are very complex organs in human body. The function of the kidney goes like this:the main function of the kidneys is to remove waste products and excess water from the blood. The kidneys process about 200 liters of blood every day and produce about two liters of urine. The  kidney stops to faction over the years and that could happen when person usually have diabetes, high blood pressure or genetic kidney diseases.Although, when person have chronic kidney diseases there is dangerous accumulation of water, waste, and toxic substances, and most individuals in this stage of kidney disease need dialysis or transplantation to stay alive.

Camping

This weekend i went to camping. It was an amazing and wonderful experience.I newer new that camping could be so much fun. Also, it is not just camping, it is hiking, swimming on the lake, waterfalls and many other interesting activities.I'm person that like outside activities but sleeping in the tent was not my thing. We went to Bash Bish waterfalls park were they have camp and that is up state New York right on the border where is Massachusetts.
Actually, it's the state's highest waterfalls... you get two waterfalls for the price of one when you visit Bash Bish State Park, and best of all--the price is free!
Bash Bish State Park is actually located within the Mount Washington State Forest, a 4,000-acre forest.
The state forest has 30 miles of hiking trails and a limited number of wilderness camping sites that are also available. It is really worth ed to see it and if  you don't like camping it is wort to see it beautiful waterfalls.

Urban Stamford

To live in an urban area has its advantages. It means to live close to everything a resident might need, in radius within few blocks.Either we need;food, dray cleaners or doctor office.Today in Stamford, there are plenty of doctors and dentists offices. You can spot a doctor office almost at least one on every block. However, when i was talking with my neighbors, this is not the luxury that people had in the past when they lived in Old Stamford.Compering the Old Stamford with the one we live today makes me wonder how much our community as well as its people have changed.Talking with older people in my building they told me that was everything was different and that they didn't have everything that they have now.Our urban neighborhood today provides us with everything we require without the need to travel too far.

Interpreter of Maladies by Jumpa Lahri/An irresponsible perenthhood

Another novel that i was impressed by Jumpa Lahri is" An irresponsible Parenthood" and i will shortly describe it.Every individual has a different personality. Those personality can be kindness , friendliness, and many other types. One of the worst quality would be selfishness. In this novel, we see an example of such selfishness. The characters Mr. and Mrs. Das are an American couple with Indian heritage,  who are visiting their family in India. They Mr. Kapasi who is a tour guide, and also interpreter at the doctor's office. As trip went on, Mr. and Mrs. Das were revealing their selfishness, their neglect toward Mr. Kapasi, and their own children. To sum up everything because it is long story, i,m able to see theses instances through the character Mr. Kapasi and his observation of this family, and horrible selfishness of these two people. This book is wonderful  and i think everybody should read  it.

"Interpreter of Maladies" by author Jumpha Lahri

I'm person who like to read a lot and one novel called" Interpreter of Maladies" by author Jumpha Lahri captured my attention, and the story goes like this. When someone feels lonely they usually feel empty and unimportant. Many people experience these feelings once they arrive to a new country. In the novel Interpreter of Maladies wee see the description of how a entertain person is dealing with loneliness. In the short story "Real Durwan"the character Boori Ma is trying to adopt to a new life as a refuge and examples how she deals with her loneliness. She is dealing with her loneliness through her stories of her past life and her present life as  durwan.Boori Ma is a sixty four year women and homeless. She is claiming that she used to be very rich and important person. Instead, her present life where she is stair sweeper and durwan.Boori Ma doesn't have any family or friends, she is a refugee in a new country. The only person who pays attention to her is Mrs.Dalal who is one of the tenants who lives in the building. She is a person that Boori Ma complains to about her sleeping in dirty sheets and how insects are biting her.Boori Ma needs someone to talk to acknowledge her as a person and her is telling her story how important she was because, that  is the way of dealing with loneliness through the memories of her life fulfilled with importance and attention. Which she had lost and become homeless person. In our society many people today are experiencing loneliness. Many immigrants are experiencing loneliness  when they arrive at a new country or are refugees like Boori Ma.People usually deal with those emotions by trying to keep their traditions alive.Anyway i could write about this novel forever and i think you gays who ever read this blog maybe should read this book it is great.I gave just little intro.

War

War is something that i really don't like.I'm the war survivor and war refugee.Usually i don't like to write about war but momentarily i don't have better idea for my blog.War is usually conflict between states or some military conflict or most common political imbalances. In my country it was a civil war,not really human and so far  very aggressive war.It occur when i was in my twentieths.Sometime i watch  the World news  and countries that are affected by war.Usually people on the tv comment  about military or politician but very rarely about civilian only if is huge number of death or some not human incidence.Anyway i feel very sorry for people anywhere in the world that are affected by the war especially children and women.War never brings anyone good.

My passion is painting

My second favorite passion is  a painting but when i was a child it was the first and most important passion and i thought maybe one day is going to be my occupation.I really like to paint and it relaxes me,  make me happy and artistic .Painting is mode of expression of your imagination but sometime  comes from beautiful surrounding like landscape or some photographs that artist can  describe with brush and colors.I like to paint with oil paints on canvas.Oil painting is processed where artist mix paint with linseed oil and other tip of oil for drying because  paint on canvas don't dry so easily.I can't tell you which style of painting is my style because is not abstract is not expressionism  and not either modernism.I like to paint sometime ocean sometime beautiful landscape but sometimes something from my imagination. I also have to be in good mood to paint because paint with any type of stress really don't look so good.Anyway this is about my second passion and maybe next time when  i finish my painting i will describe in my next future blog.

Dominican Republic

Three years in the row me and my family goes to Dominican republic on Family vacation. This country is very pretty unlike Europe in many ways.Dominican Republic is one of the Caribbean island with Spanish as official language. Dominican Republic is fantastic place for relaxation with wonderful white sand beaches and resort. What i like about this country of my perfect getaway vacation is crystal clear bluish, greenish   water  and fantastic view from everywhere.I found Dominican people very interesting and very pleasant. Also, music is magnificent Batchata, marengue and many other music that i can actually pronounce.I think this country is very pretty.

Newport Rhode Island

Last weekend i went to Newport.I had awesome time.Usually me and my family every year during the summer time at least once or two times   go to visit this beautiful small town.Newport is close to Providence and not that fare  from Stamford either, usually take me to go there about two hours of driving. What i like about Newport is nice ,clean, beautiful beaches, small town with significant architecture and interesting history also the famous cliff walk with unusually pretty view. The New
port cliff walk is considered one of the most popular attraction in the city.It is about 4 or 5 miles walkway bordering the shoreline. It  is recreational and plus beautiful.I usually go in the morning and afternoon for a walk by the ocean on the cliffs. Also they have marina in the town where are many sailboats, commercial boats and yachts and sometimes they have competition with sailing boats during the summer or u can just pay for one hour of riding on the tour boat which is very interesting too. There is many other things to see but i just mention some of them that i like and that i found interesting.I think Newport is very special and interesting town in the United States to see and if you gays have chance go to see this pretty town because is not that far from Connecticut.
